Dec 4, 2008 These look like the court clothes worn by the wives of Henry Eighth -- probably displayed at Hampton Court Palace near London UK. These would only be worn at state functions. All the ermine fur and gold brocade! As for fainting, it was more due to extremely tight undergarments squeezing the innards into ridiculous measurements (Queen Elizabeth first reportedly had a 24 inch waist and was a very hearty eater!) |

Dec 4, 2008 I remember seeing a display very much like this one at the Tower of London. They also had a suit of armour worn by Henry VIII. Good picture, but would have liked to see one of the dresses featured in the picture rather than a tableau. |

Dec 4, 2008 Great photo, made a rather hard puzzle, love seeing relics of the past. Wonder how women were even able to walk wearing such heavey garments. Really cold here in N Illinois,6 above 0, too early for such weather.Peace and blessing to all Described as: Addictive, Challenging |

Dec 4, 2008 Nice photo Sylvia, but it would have been lovely to know where those costumes were being displayed! Tried to do the red rope first (after the edges), but kept getting distracted by the yellow and white!! Well, it rained all night and now the sun's out, so no snow down here - how bad is it north of the border, nektia & magaroonie? Happy Birthday kaymac! |
