Had no clue what it was till done. Wouldn't want to be the ironer either. I often thought about the clothes the women wore on the wagon trains going west glad we've modernized. HB Kaymac enjoy your lunch. Prayers for Jobs husbands friend. Blessings all.

A very interesting picture, thank you Sylvia. Happy Birthday kaymac! Have fun today with your daughter. job4430, I'll keep your friend's husband in my prayers. Take care all.

These look like the court clothes worn by the wives of Henry Eighth -- probably displayed at Hampton Court Palace near London UK. These would only be worn at state functions. All the ermine fur and gold brocade! As for fainting, it was more due to extremely tight undergarments squeezing the innards into ridiculous measurements (Queen Elizabeth first reportedly had a 24 inch waist and was a very hearty eater!)

I remember seeing a display very much like this one at the Tower of London. They also had a suit of armour worn by Henry VIII. Good picture, but would have liked to see one of the dresses featured in the picture rather than a tableau.

I loved that yellow in those clothes! Fun puzzle. HAPPY BDay, Kaymac. Enjoy your lunch. Prayers for your friend's husband, Job. I hope they have caught his CA in time. Blessings for all puzzlers & their families.

I loved old things. i just can't figure out how ladies wore these in the summer time. Maybe that is why so many fainted. Happy Birthday Kaymac have a great day. Job4430 will say a prayer for your friends husband. Blessings all have a wonderful day.

Enjoyed working this puzzle today and am so happy we don't have to dress like that in this day and age. Well, todays my B-Day, so I'm off to have lunch with my daughter and do some shopping. Nice, sunny day here. Should be in high 50's. Prayers for all in need. :-)

I just love old period clothing so this one was very pleasing to me. Thanks Sylvia. Took me a while but I got it done. Those of us in snow country please be careful while driving keep safe. Prayers for all who are ill, may the Lord touch each and every one and make them well again. Blessing to all out there. Give your special someone a big hug & a kiss. Hugs are wonderful kisses are good too. Love hugs!!!

I'll bet only the upper class were able to afford these clothes. What a nice photo must be on display somewhere in the United Kingdom! Thanks for this great puzzle.

Great photo, made a rather hard puzzle, love seeing relics of the past. Wonder how women were even able to walk wearing such heavey garments. Really cold here in N Illinois,6 above 0, too early for such weather.Peace and blessing to all

Very nice, reminds me of the Disney movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" With the right spell, would they walk off?

Really enjoyed today's puzzle - loved the colours and the varied designs. A little chilly here this week, with the wind chill it was -27 last evening. Not quite ready for those temps yet!

Nice photo Sylvia, but it would have been lovely to know where those costumes were being displayed! Tried to do the red rope first (after the edges), but kept getting distracted by the yellow and white!! Well, it rained all night and now the sun's out, so no snow down here - how bad is it north of the border, nektia & magaroonie? Happy Birthday kaymac!

The clothes of the very rich only. Heavy and warm for the winter, but how in earth did they manage in the summer?
avatarSmlFrameInactive.png   suleewu007 Dec 4, 2008
Laughing, Karuna? Well, maybe he was. Loved the historical fashions tonight...they do look uncomfortable to be wearing every day, all day.... Nice puzzle. Thanks.
avatarSmlFrameInactive.png   Grannytooslow Dec 4, 2008
Oh but, Sylvia, where did you take this photo, please? So much too Google, so little time!

Talk about a bad hair day! I didn't realize Tigers were larger than Lions - very interesting! It's been crazy and not all good. Good friend's husband just diagnosed with esophageal cancer. More tests needed. So much going on that it is just overwhelming.
