TAKE ACTION

With the help of dedicated volunteers and community activists, the ACLU of Florida works to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the individual rights and liberties that are guaranteed to all people in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States.

There are several ways that you can support the work of the ACLU of Florida. The actions listed below are meaningful ways of raising public awareness and shifting policy. They can be undertaken by individuals or groups of interested people.

Support the ACLU of Florida

You can support the work of the ACLU of Florida by becoming a members and/or making a financial contribution. Doing so helps support the litigation, legislative lobbying, public education, and organizing work of the ACLU.

Get Active in Your Community

Find out more about a local ACLU chapter in your area. There are 16 volunteer-run chapters across the state that regularly meet to discuss pressing civil liberties issues. Click here for a complete list of those chapters and their individual meeting dates/times.

Join the ACLU of Florida E-Mail Activist List!

By signing-up for any of the ACLU of Florida?s E-mail Activist Lists, you will receive updates on time-critical civil liberties issues. There are various subscriptions to choose from. To sign-up, please click here.

Oppose the USA Patriot Act

Several communities in Florida, including St. Petersburg, Tampa, Lee, Broward, Sarasota and Alachua, have joined the growing list of municipalities to pass pro-civil liberties resolutions that urge a narrowing of the USA Patriot Act and affirm support for freedom in the post-9/11 era.
