Here in South West Florida we are used to this time of year being dry ,dry, dry. Yes, this time of year I like to have a trash barrel ready to catch the rain when and if it falls and runs off the roof.
Of course as a general rule, I have vegetables growing so I need to have a water supply everyday.
And every year the water restrictions go into effect , the building continues with large amounts of forest ,wildlife FULL forests at that ,are leveled, oh and I must add that many of these forests are burned in the middle of the night. I smell them burning all summer long....
And Then
The Water Police Come out.
City inspectors, armed with citation books, will cruise the streets ready to pounce if they find a sprinkler operating illegally. Neighbors will be encouraged to rat each other out for watering on the wrong day. Helicopters will hover above farms and golf courses, taking satellite coordinates of pumps operating in violation of water-shortage orders.
Certainly, there has to be a better way to conserve water by harassing homeowners every year under the guise of HELPING conserve water.
Since when has it become honorable to poke your nose in your neighbors business but unpatriotic to stick your nose in Government affairs.....?
Irregardless
Florida People
HEADS UP
WE are in a continual drought.....alternating water rules apply...
You know the drill.
