When did the State become the parents? When did this occur?
It seems the swing has gone from one side to the other in regard to the Safety of Children.
On many instances I can see the Worthiness of taking some children away from a parent for Protective reasons. I was a child that begged for my Mother to send me to a state home. ANY home except a girls school but I was ready for someone ANYONE to come to my aid and help me. Help was never there for me. So I have that to look at as an adult. Many other Children had it worse off than I did. None of my scars show, if you catch my drift.
I also was around NYC when the poor girl was killed by he foster parents...the female parent brain damaged from the beatings her husband gave her It was a tragic tale but aren't all of these torture cases and that is what I call these cases , Torture to the death. There are endless ones that have never been stopped even though case workers were involved but the case I want to talk about is not one that has ended up in a physical death of a person. The spirit perhaps, the family most assuredly.
We have living in our small house with us, a woman that has been separated from her 2 children and her 2 children have been separated from each other. She lives on disability, she lives on Charity.
I haven't seen any movement on behalf of the State to keep the family unit together. In fact, it has been very much the opposite.
I have already mentioned that she lives on disability. Disability is VERY hard to get in the state of Florida. She has been on prescribed medications for sometime and she became dependent and she asked for help at a church and they in turn told DCF that she was a drug addict and her kids were snatched from her. She has been dancing to the tune of DCF ever since and I don't think it will ever stop and I don't think it is right.
Recently, the Children's Coalition case worker chided the mother of the children because she was not employed. I don't understand what the problem is? Aren't there other people on Disability and Medications that are allowed to keep their Children or is the Papa State going to come by and drug test everybody and take away all the children? Of course not. So what is the situation with this case?
Yes, she is homeless. Wouldn't it be cheaper to find her some apartment or trailer to live in then pay for all the paper work ? Pay for the boot camps? Pay for child care? Yes, folks, this Mother has to pay for Child Care for the Children the State took from her. Oh, and the drug testing....How much money does the State pay in drug testing these Black Listed Parents? Who is the company that got the contract to do these drug tests? How many drug tests do you have to pass before you can have your kids back? Who is ruling this roost?
I read that the State of Florida just gave quite a bit of money in to keep families together but in the State of Florida I do not see it happening.
So, because of all this going on as we try to help out a woman in need I have been delving into more and I ran into this site
