For an entire week the National NEWS media made IMUS the TOP news story. YES IMUS IS AN ASS. OH THE OUTRAGE! IS THIS TOP PRIORITY NEWS?

Where were the other news stories of the week? YOU KNOW the ones, MORE Soldiers died this week in IRAQ, tours of duty are extended, backdoor drafts, and more Iraqis are blown up due to the Civil war.

I ask, where was the news media when they needed to be asking QUESTIONS OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. You remember, as the drum beat for war in IRAQ became deafening in 2002.

OUR National news is controlled by a handful of corporations. The NEWS has become hostage to profit margins. Corporations decided that the American people are just to STUPID TO UNDERSTAND the complicated workings of the government, and the complicated war in IRAQ.

Corporations believe that "WE" will not watch the news if it doesn't have the majority of the news time, pondering the questions, "WHERE IS BRITNEY"S PANTIES, WHO'S THE BABY'S DADDY, and now, HOW ANGRY ARE WE ABOUT IMUS?"

Where is Cronkite when we need him? What happened to the "FOURTH ESTATE?

"We" need to recognize what has happened, the deliberate "dumbing down" of information. "We" need to demand REAL, "NO SPIN" NEWS. For if we don't, soon we will no longer be living in what we proudly called "THE LAND OF THE FREE".

Losing our free press is unacceptable. Knowledge is not just POWER, it is FREEDOM.
