Kevin Ring

Kevin Ring worked for Rep. John Doolittle from 1993 to 1998, becoming his legislative director in 1995. Afterward he worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, then the Conservative Action Team (co-founded by Doolittle), before he joined Jack Abramoff at Greenberg, Traurig LLP in 2001. In 2004 Ring moved to Barnes & Thornburg LLP.

Key Points:

Kevin Ring was the middleman between Abramoff and Doolittle.

Kevin Ring was the middleman in Abramoff's hiring of Sierra Dominion Financial solutions from 2002 to 2004. Sierra Dominion Financial Solutions Inc is a political fundraising company whose president is Julie Doolittle, Rep. Doolittle's wife. In 2004 the company's records were subpoenaed by the grand jury investigating Abramoff.

Kevin Ring cited the Fifth Amendment before the Senate Indian Affairs Committee.

In June, 2005, Ring declined to respond to questions from Sen. John McCain about KAR LLC, a consulting company registered at Ring's address and bearing his initials, which received a $25,000 check from Grass Roots Interactive, LLC, a company controlled by Jack Abramoff.

McCain also asked if Ring tried to 'bury' the $800 cost of his membership to the University Club in Washington in a bill to the Mississippi Choctaws. The expense is unrelated to Ring's lobbying services and therefore illegal.

Kevin Ring paid for a fundraising dinner for Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ).

While working with Abramoff, Ring paid for a fundraising dinner for Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ). Shadegg also used Abramoff's sports arena skyboxes on three occasions.
