Watch for police officers if you are taking Beach Road this week in Englewood because the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is putting deputies there looking for speeders.
Deputies will also be looking for speeders along Harbor Boulevard between U.S. 41 and Peachland Boulevard in Port Charlotte, it is reporting.
In 2006 on Beach Road there were 24 crashes involving 46 vehicles, injuring 10 and causing $74,875 in damages. Last year along the Harbor Boulevard, there were 64 crashes involving 124 vehicles, injuring 23, causing $260,025 in damages, the sheriff’s office reports.
The sheriff’s office will be looking for red-light runners along U.S. 41 and Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte. It will also be looking for red-light runners on State Road 776 and Beach Road in Englewood, it reports.
