Since people seem to think that the WTC in NYC collapsed mainly because the Structure couldn't take the heat, Since people are under the impression that the "heat shield " was shaken loose by the airplane hit...Since so many people have been told by flunkies that a bridge collapse by a tanker truck fire is somehow related to the same type of construction of the World Trade Center....Yes, folks, that is quite unbelievable isn't it?
Because of that type of ignorance, I feel Pressed to Post about the Shanghai World Financial Center Fire.
Here is a 102 floor Unfinished Skyscraper.
Firemen Put Out Fire In China's Tallest Building
Shanghai, China (AHN) - Firemen have put
out a fire at China's unfinished tallest building in Shanghai City, the
Chinese media reported on Wednesday.
The crienglish.com said
fire broke out at the 40th floor of the 101-storey Shanghai World
Financial Center at 4:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. GMT) on Tuesday but
firemen contained the blaze by 5:45 p.m. (9:45 a.m. GMT). The DPA news
agency said the fire was put out in less than 30 minutes.
The
Shanghai municipal public security bureau reported no casualties. DPA
reported that 70 windows of the building in Shanghai's Pudong New
District were damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Construction
of the Shanghai World Financial Center started in 2005 and will stand
492 meters (1,614 feet), the tallest building in China, when completed
early next year. The building is already 420 meters (1,378 feet) high
when the fire broke out.
I don't know about you but a fire on the 40th floor, Less than Half way up should have a better chance of imploding because of Weakened Steel. After all, using the logic that is rampant in the Anti Information Crowd, It should not be standing even after only 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was an unfinished building . It also had many problems which caused construction halts.
Fire breaks out at troubled Shanghai World Financial Center
A fire broke out today at what will be China's tallest skyscraper,
dealing another setback to the long-troubled project, local fire
officials said.
The fire, which hit the Shanghai World Financial
Center in the late afternoon, was quickly put out and there were no
casualties, a fire department supervisor surnamed Zheng told Agence
France-Presse.
City officials and representatives of the project
declined to offer further details pending a probe into the fire at the
101-storey tower, set to be 492 meters (1,614 feet) tall when completed
early next year.
A photo posted on a popular Chinese website
earlier showed a large cloud of smoke wafting out of the skeletal upper
reaches of the structure before it was put out.
The incident is
just the latest blow for the troubled project, which has been dogged by
delays and controversy since it was first begun in 1997, intended to be
the world's tallest building.
It was shelved soon after due to the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis and a massive property glut in the city.
It was resurrected in 2003 with plans for a six-star hotel, retail
shops, a museum, observation deck and 70 floors of office space.
The price tag was set at 105 bln yen (910 mln usd at the time) and completion was targeted for 2008.
However, the delays cost the project its status as the world's tallest building.
That honor currently belongs to 508-metre Taipei 101 building, which
will in turn be eclipsed next year by Dubai's 800-metre Burj Dubai
tower.
Yes the race is on to come up with the tallest skyscraper .....AGAIN. So, if steel melts and weakens so easily, is this really very smart? Or is it a lie?
