JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 70-year-old Jacksonville doctor has been charged with exchanging painkiller prescriptions for sex with at least five women.

Benjamin Malalang (mah-lah-LANG') was arrested Thursday on a charge of trafficking in illegal drugs and knowingly assisting a patient in obtaining a controlled substance through fraud.

A patient told police that she had had received prescriptions for painkillers hydrocodone and Oxycontin and had been meeting the doctor at his home and office for sex. Police say at least four other women were receiving prescriptions in return for money or sex.

He is being held in the Duval County Jail without bail. Jail records do not show if he has an attorney and his office telephone number was disconnected.
