Detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff's
Narcotics Unit conducted an undercover operation Thursday; money for
drugs was exchanged and the suspect chewed up the $100 buy money and
marijuana as evidence, according to a CCSO report.
Detectives said Gregory Pascal, 22, 5710 Gallatin Lane, North
Port, met with undercover detectives in Port Charlotte and exchanged
$100 for crack cocaine. Pascal and the driver, Talesha Amber Kinsey,
24, of the same North Port address, drove away, only to be stopped at
U.S. 41 and Midway Boulevard.
Pascal was searched and marijuana and paper was found in his
mouth, the report shows. Detectives said the $100 buy money had not
been recovered, and the paper appeared to be the chewed-up money mixed
with marijuana.
Pascal told detectives he swallowed narcotics but would not
specify what. EMS responded and transported Pascal to Peace River
Regional Medical Center. He was medically cleared, then taken to the
Charlotte County Jail, the report shows.
Pascal was charged with sale and delivery of crack cocaine,
possession of crack cocaine, tampering with evidence, possession of
marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in jail
Friday on $12,000 bond.
Kinsey was charged as being a principal in the first degree in
the sale and delivery of crack cocaine. She was released after posting
$5,000 bond.
