IN BRIEF: Siesta Public Beach advisory lifted E-mail
Written by Sarasota Herald Tribune

SARASOTA COUNTY

Health officials lifted a water advisory at Siesta Public Beach on Saturday after tests showed the water no longer had high bacteria levels. Visitors to the popular beach had been warned not to swim or do other water sports since Thursday because of a high level of fecal coliform bacteria.

Tests had shown the bacteria, which indicate the presence of human or animal waste in the water, were more than double the acceptable limit for safe swimming.
