LEESBURG, Fla. -- Police with the Lake County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on Tuesday on several drug charges, including trafficking in illegal drugs and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Detectives searched the Leesburg home of Daniel D. Civic, 50, and said they found illegal drugs. They recovered 147 pills of Oxycontin and 24 pills of Xanax. They also found 15 Metronidazole and six Amoxicilan pills, both drugs that require prescriptions that Civic did not have. Civic told police he was operating a methadone clinic out of his home for drug addicts and he made users go to church. Agents said Civic was paid in cash or in favors. According to the police record, a confidential source bought 10 pills of the narcotic drug Dilaudid from Civic last October. The pills tested positive for the presence of morphine. Police said Civic, an American citizen originally from Yugoslavia, arranged the sale with the confidential source via cellular phone, a criminal offense. Civic is being held on a $67,500 bond. If he's convicted, Civic could receive a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years. http://www.wesh.com/news/8488446/detail.html
