Militarized Police Forces Called in to Subdue Man in his Bathroom.

Would you expect to be Shot Dead by a SWAT Team after a fight with your Spouse?
I bet the Spouse of a local North Port man  was expecting to be Bailing her Husband out, not Burying him.

The area of North Port that this Raid on one man in the bathroom of his own house is not heavily populated. There are roads in place for a soon to come heavy population but none so far.

As the story goes, released by wwsb-abc-tv,

"three Suncoast agencies tried to negotiate a man out of his bathroom after a domestic dispute with his wife.
North Port Police,Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and their S.W.A.T. teams"

So we see that 5 identified agencies had their forces banded together against one man in his bathroom.

The story starts at somewhere around 8AM Monday with a domestic dispute call and escalates to a military police raid at 11PM.

I will say that I would have given in when seeing the snowball approaching...getting Larger and Larger but this man was distressed by more than an early morning arguement. That is apparent to me but we will never know and 39-year-old Raemond Eichelkraut and his wife will never be able to resolve their dispute.

"After over 11 hours of Eichelkraut refusing to surrender to arrest and tear gas was shot into the house on Dustin Road, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team entered the house the arrest him. "

Tear Gas? Was that really necessary? Is that what citizens in the State of Florida can expect when the Police are called in? That, is a scary proposition.

"Just before 7:30pm Monday night, Eichelkraut was found inside the bathroom and despite further attempts at negotiations with Eichelkraut, he turned his handgun toward officers and was fatally shot in return."

Do you have a good picture of this?

I didn't so I went to the sun-herald story to see if there was a tad more information.

Boy, WAS there.

How many cans of tear-gas do you think you would need to "sub-due" one man in a bathroom?

SIX!! nope , not even 6 did the trick.

The Sun-Herald reports:

"By 9:50 a.m., the Sarasota negotiating team and about 15 SWAT members arrived. Several snipers were positioned as the team spoke to Eichelkraut by phone. "

Ok, 2 hours after the initial call into police on a DOMESTIC DISPUTE we should expect 15 SWAT members at our door.....

"By 1 p.m., members of the Charlotte County SWAT arrived to relieve Sarasota County. More than 30 officers were on scene throughout the day."

Seems to be an awful lot of man power for a man locked in the bathroom of his own house. No one was with him. No captives or hostages. Just this one man in his very own bathroom.

Sun-Herald also reported that it was due to the extreme heat which caused fatigue in the Troops, I mean, Police Officers, that forced the Police to use tear gas on this one man, who had had a fight with his wife, that was held up in his very own bathroom, alone.

"Due to the extreme heat, it caused fatigue in the men," Lesaltato,of the Sarasota Sheriff's Office  said. "They used tear gas several times during the negotiations to try to get him to come out."

The man's mother,Jane Eichelkraut described her son as "level-headed," adding he would have been calmer and would have come out of the home if he could have spoken to a family member at any time Monday.

"We begged (officers) to let us talk to him," Jane Eichelkraut said. "If they just would have let me or his father in or even on the phone, he would have come out without any fuss."

Lesaltato said it's standard protocol not to notify the family of the events going on during negotiations.

and he ALSO said "We used every means to get him to come out and end it peacefully," he said.

People of Florida LISTEN UP!!

If this was how they try to end Family Spats peacefully. I wonder why the real criminals get away. Seems they left no stone unturned here and it is a tombstone left.

My Condolences to Mrs. Suzanne Eichelkraut
and to the Parents of the victim of a Police State in developement....Jane Eichelkraut and her Husband, Wally and to Raemond's Brother.
