Man arrested for exposing himself at Van Wezel SARASOTA - A 46-year-old Suncoast man was arrested by Sarasota Police Tuesday after he allegedly exposed himself to a group of young people near the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center.
According to a SPD report, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North Washington Blvd. just after 7 am. They were met by several juveniles who told them they had witnessed a white male urinating in Sarasota Bay.
After he finished relieving himself, the suspect allegedly began to masturbate in front of the youths. The suspect fled the area in a green Mercedes four-door vehicle, which was located a short time later.
The victims positively identified the driver, Dean Joseph Serena, as the man who exposed himself by the bay.
The suspect was booked into the Sarasota County Jail on four counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition. Serena was released after posting a bond of $10,000. He will be arraigned on charges on July 7.
Serena has one previous arrest in Sarasota County. He was charged and convicted of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident without giving information in July 2002. http://www.wwsb.com/frameset.asp?page=http://www.wwsb.com/news/details.asp?id=27189
