The great battle between the truly talented and what is called talent  continues.

It is something that occurs with each generation that perceives the  fame as “making it” and being someone. In today’s world it is becoming harder and harder to “BE” much less be SOMEONE  that people grovel over.

Millions of girls planned on being Madonna , Brittany and what’s her name…oh yes, Jessica Simpson.. But LOOK at them? Happiness eludes them as does , in most cases, good taste.

So what separates these HAVES from the “has but no one notices”

Most of the time it is parental support.

I have known some very brilliant singer/artists. Those that had no support at home never got far in life at all. Ok maybe that isn’t fair to make such a broad brush stroke there. They have now had families of their own and tend to be VERY supportive of their children because they see the need for involvement.

Now, there are those Parents who wanted to be great and they will push their children to the brink of a nervous breakdown. Such a sad thing too. For the parents never got their break and they feel that the only way to Be somebody is have a child that “made it”

I am not counting those children. I am speaking only of children that have the “love”, the “passion” Those children need special attention. They do not need to be taken off their obsession. There is a reason why God gave us people like this. We NEED them. We need people who FEEL with their entire being the weights and triumphs of others. This is what artistic children do. Naturally talented children are often forced to abandon their talent either by parents , who in all fairness want the child to be able to “fall back “ on something so they can be financially secure in there old age. What you are trying to get them to do is burn a candle at both ends. If you have a child that sings with everything, attempts to write songs and poetry, and self teaches themselves, piano or any instrument with out prompting….for heavens sake, SUPPORT THEM!! People such as this might miss their opportunity while trying to do the accepted thing.

Because of this , we have few real artists out there and Recording companies decide who is famous and who is not. Marketing agents who decide who the rest of the world sees and hears. And the only famous people are mainly objects of marketing execs.
